OTO is Guatemala’s original mountain bike touring company. We’ve been rider-owned and operated since 1998 and our professional guides have more than 20 years of experience guiding mountain bike rides in Guatemala.
We offer bikepacking trips for beginners and experts alike, and our extensive knowledge of the trails and Guatemalan countryside means we can create a ride around your skillset, fitness or interests. Find your ride!
I went down to Guatemala with my friend Stephan not entirely sure what to expect, and to say we were pleasantly surprised is a huge understatement. Our bikepacking tour with Chris and Matt through the Mayan Highlands was the trip of a lifetime. We went from hut to hut in some of the most beautiful and remote places that Guatemala has to offer. We got to eat delicious food with local families along the way, and we definitely got to quench our thirst for adventure as well. 10/10 would recommend to any mountain biker looking for more than your average bikepacking tour.
We design and fabricate our own line of bikepacking bags called 'Travesia'. Let us know if you're interested in buying or renting gear, otherwise you can definitely bring gear from home too!
We know that you are always more comfortable on your own gear, however, airlines charge $$$ for bikes. We have a fleet of recent model Kona mountain bikes that you can ride.
As long as it is safe to do so we will head out on the scheduled ride. For whatever reason, if we have to cancel the ride we will first attempt to reschedule or offer an opportunity to head out on another trip. If that is not possible we will refund your trip payment.
