Our first objective is to summit Acatenango: Guate's 3rd largest volcano, where we'll get a bird's eye view of neighboring Fuego volcano. If there's any activity from Fuego's cone we'll have front row seats. A thousand foot (330 Mt.) scree run takes us to the beautiful pine forested saddle between Acatenango and Fuego where we'll set up camp. Wind conditions and the amount of activity dictate how close we are able to get to Fuego's multicolored cinder cone.
